2013 Sandwich Sled Dog Race
Unfortunately, we have cancelled the Sandwich Sled Dog Race for this year. We are very grateful for all of the volunteers who continue to help out with this event, and look forward to try for next year! For anyone interested in sled dogs, there will be a “Fun Run” on Saturday, March 2nd starting at 9:00 a.m. in Wonalancet Intervale.

The Mid-distance Sled Dog Race happens again in Sandwich this coming February. Race day is February 16th, 2013 and registration is open as of November 1st. This race is a community-sponsored event and the local residents enjoy being able to interact with the Drivers and their families. The 45 and 20 mile races cover the Sandwich and North Sandwich scenic White Mountain National Forest, historic Wonalancet and Tamworth trails that include winding tight trails, narrow bridges over brooks, steep hills and open fields. This is a very challenging trail you will enjoy but not forget.
Race Entry
This race is limited to 60 teams 
- 6-8 dog class will be limited to 25 teams.
- 6 dog class will be limited to 25 teams.
- 1-2 dog Skijor class will be limited to 10 teams.
To ensure entry, please register early! The Sandwich Sidehillers will begin to accept applications on Nov. 1, 2012. Registrations will be accepted until Friday, Feb. 15th at 6:00 p.m. due to uncertainty of trail conditions. All entrants must attend the Drivers’ meeting on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sandwich Elementary School Cafeteria.

The Sandwich PTO will be sponsoring a Family-Style Supper on Friday before the Race at 5:30 p.m. at the Sandwich Central School. $8.00/ adult. Please come and support the Sandwich PTO Supper. The community looks forward to meeting the Mushers and their families. The Sandwich PTO sponsored supper will be held at the Sandwich Central School. Click here for directions.
Mandatory drivers meeting and bib draw will be held Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at 7:00p.m. at the Sandwich Central School.
Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 Race start at 9:00a.m. Floyd’s Field, North Sandwich, NH. Mushers must be present by 7:30 a.m. for gear checks. Please specify what type of vehicle you will be coming in on the 2013 Entry Form
